Group 133 is a chartered local group of Amnesty International USA, Inc. (AIUSA) based in the Somerville/Arlington area of Massachusetts.
Group 133 is one of 4,000 local and student Amnesty International groups in the U.S. Based in Somerville, MA, Group 133 has been active for 22 years. Since its founding, the group has worked on behalf of prisoners in Indonesia, Ghana, the former USSR, Chile, the former East Germany, East Timor, Argentina, Uganda, Burundi, and other countries. During 1990-1993 the group focused its efforts on obtaining asylum for Jose Mercedes Sotz Cate, a Guatemalan trade unionist, and his son Jose Estuardo Sotz Alvarez.

The whole group meets once a month, on every second Tuesday. Action Teams carry out human rights work that is focused on a particular concern or region. Check out the events calendar to find when they’re meeting.
